Jonathan Friedman has spent 37 years working on real estate projects throughout Southern California, Arizona and Nevada. As founder of JemStreet Properties, previously known as Long Beach Equities, Jon handles all aspects of real estate development and home building, from negotiating land purchase and sales contracts, to processing zone changes to interacting with institutional clients and lenders. Jon has created special sewer and water assessment districts for master planned communities and interacts on a regular basis with public officials, both elected and appointed, to obtain needed entitlements. Jon is also a licensed General Contractor in the State of California. His projects total 8,000 acres of raw land which have been processed and entitled for approximately 12,500 residential housing units and 800 acres of commercial land throughout Southern California.
Jon is Life Director of the Building Industry Association (BIA), Riverside Chapter. An active member since 1985, he served as Chairman of the Legislative Affairs Committee, Vice President of Governmental Affairs, and President . Presently, Jon is active on the Governmental Affairs Committee for the Los Angeles/Ventura Chapter of the BIA. He is a graduate of Duke University’s School of Engineering.
Rick Coop has more than 34 years of experience in Land Acquisition ,operations, cost estimating and sales and marketing with both start-up and growth home building organizations. He started his career in 1982 as a project accountant and financial analyst with First City Properties, a large public real estate development company specializing in both income producing and for sale product, and ultimately was promoted to Vice President and Secretary of the Company in 1991.After his 16 year tenure, Rick spent the next 9 years with Western Pacific Housing which was purchased by D. R. Horton (in 2001), the Nations Largest Home Builder. Rick worked 5 years for DR Horton as the Los Angeles/Ventura Division President. The Division developed more than 700 units/year while maintaining both quality and cost control, exceeding company objectives. Under his presidency, the Division generated average annual revenues of more than $300 million, putting his division in the top ten of all D.R. Horton divisions and number one in market share for Ventura County for three of those years.
